Lysophosphatidylcholine (Lyso-PC) is a degradation product of lecithin. Generated through the hydrolytic action of enzymes such as phospholipase A1, phospholipase A2, and phospholipase B, it is a normal metabolic product of phospholipids in the human body. Depending on the cleavage site of the phospholipid ester bond, lysophosphatidylcholine can be classified into lysophosphatidylcholine 1 and lysophosphatidylcholine 2. Under normal conditions, due to steric hindrance (spatial obstruction within the molecular structure), the ratio of lysophosphatidylcholine 1 to lysophosphatidylcholine 2 in phospholipid products is approximately 1:9, with lysophosphatidylcholine 2 being predominant.
