DSPE-mPEG2000

DSPE-MPEG2000 is also known as pegylated phosphatidylethanolamine and exists primarily as a salt. It is hygroscopic and soluble in water. Because of the hydrophobicity of DSPE, DSPE-MPEG2000 can form micelles when dissolved in water. The critical micelle concentration (CMC) is less than 10–5 mol/L, more than 100 times smaller than that of surfactants. Therefore, DSPE-MPEG2000 is an excellent drug-loading micelle material.

White powdery solid with certain hygroscopicity, freely soluble in lower alcohols, ketones and chloroform, solubility in water: approximately (3–4) g/100 ml;

MPEG2000-DSPE can disperse in water to form micelles. The critical micelle concentration (CMC) is 102 times lower than that of surfactants, so the drug-loading stability is better, which maintains the particle integrity of micelles even if diluted by blood.

MPEG2000-DSPE micelles are simpler to prepare than liposomes, and have been proven to be targeted and easier to aggregate in solid tumors.
